Basic Science and Humanities Department
Basic Sciences and Humanities (BS&H) division began its journey from the inception of the Institute in 2002. Primarily, it serves engineering students in their first year of UG Program. The primary objective of BS&H division is to inculcate fundamental knowledge in mathematics, physics, chemistry, environmental studies, and English language in order to provide students with a solid foundation in engineering education. This division established the thin films research laboratory and the nanomaterials research laboratory to enhance research opportunities and to support innovative practices. The BS&H division serves as a "launching pad" for students to enter their various specialized Programs with adequate academic knowledge and soft skills.

Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities is established with a view to brush up students in human skills like communication skills and improving English Language. This Department comprises English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The department has a sophisticated and modern English Language lab with the software of a reputed software company. The lab is well furnished and quite interactive in methodology. The objective is to inculcate the necessary communication skills so that these students excel in the competitive world. Apart from the special focus on the 1st years students, this department teaches language skills to 2nd, 3rd and final year students as a special effort.
